Day Six: Santa breaks the Internet
Santa decides to modernize things to enjoy some free time.
He leaves his Head Elf Bernard in charge of implementing new automation at the North Pole….But changing well-established processes is not that easy.

Santa's Surfing The Web
Meanwhile at the North Pole
Bernard arrived in the workshop early today to an interesting scene. Pink, blue, yellow, green and orange sticky notes covered the workshop from top to bottom.
On Bernard’s computer screen, a tiny note from the tiniest elf Mindy read, “we need more sticky notes.”
The elves had given up on their Christmas Resource Planning Software (XRP) and were collaborating only in sticky notes and notebook sheets like they used to do in the past!
Bernard rips the tiny note off of his screen and sends Santa a non-sticky note, again, looking for advice.
Santa's Reply to Bernard
I am sorry to have missed the sticky note fiasco, but maybe we should keep this in mind as a backup in case we ever run out of wrapping paper!
You’re correct in saying that this is not an effective approach by the elves, but understand that they are just trying to find the quickest way to make Christmas happen. And for them, this means going back to familiar processes!
As I mentioned in my previous email, I’m currently doing some research to see what we can do to help the elves.
What I’ve found so far, is that the elves lack familiarity with the XRP. And that’s why they’re so reluctant to get used to the new system or learn more about it. Maybe, while trying to create centralized documentation, as mentioned yesterday, we should also offer some direct support!
We all know that learning a little bit everyday about something is much easier than trying to become a master overnight.
Let me see how we can support the elves and get everything done by Christmas.
Lots of Love,
PS. I just googled myself and found out I get over 155 million searches! Take that, Kardashians!
